COOL RUNNINGS FARM | GINGER
The founder of Cool Runnings is Garfield Jarret . He grew up in Jamaica surrounded by his Grandfather’s sugar cane. As a 10 year Marine Corp Veteran the direction of his life shifted after being injured overseas in a roadside attack. After recuperating Jarret’s love for nature and desire to heal and help others led him to earn both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from Florida International University and ultimately start his own Organic Farm.
It was through FIU that he discovered the newly developed Small Farmer & Veteran Outreach Program. The training and access program for resources was designed for military veterans, socially disadvantaged and beginner farmers to start their own ventures.
The farm, in operation for almost two years, now serves as a community resource center, as a learning tool for students, a healing place for therapy and a beacon of light in areas where healthy food is seemingly unattainable. With 5 children, the youngest a newborn & and eldest planning for college Cool Runnings is a family & community oriented business.
Cool Running’s Organic Farm promotes and educates about sustainable food systems through community involvement. We pride ourselves on raising and processing animals in a humane way without antibiotics or hormones.

Our friends at Honi Lifestyle who provide us with our bee pollen, not only are they local, but also woman and minority owned and creating some of the highest quality product we have ever tasted!
Everything is sourced from local bee colonies.
Nara Cedeno found Honi LIfestyle10 years ago after bumping into the study of bees during her academic years.
Her favorite part of the job is not only the care of bees and providing bee products to our community but also having one on one contact with customers and educating about why sourcing locally is so important!
Bee pollen has a broad spectrum amino acid profile. it’s got incredible immune boosting qualities and consuming local bee products is said to help tremendously with seasonal allergies.
